HAWTHORNE 225 September 3-5, 2010

Three cheers for Sam Berri and Team Margarita for the outstanding win at Hawthorne, Nevada. All Team Margarita had to do was give a smile and a wave to Sam’s, what we would consider a perfect run. It looked to be a very competitive race with the 102 Punisher car starting the race and Sam in second off the line, followed by Shannon Harwell and a new racer to VORRA – Tom Woods with the 1574 BITD car from Arizona. At check 1 Brian, Rusty, Chelsey and Lois were all awaiting to give a hand which they were very busy with many other racers. Don and Ellen with Lil Don were at Check 2 to lend their support to anyone who needed assistance. Bob and Alex were chasing Sam from Visual A to Visual B and also helped with Sam’s one fuel stop at main pit where Lou and Annie, Jessica, Alex and Bob executed another outstanding fuel stop. Sam would like to give a shout out to Shannon Harwell a very strong competitor, for the use of Cheyenne’s Toyota Prerunner which gave Lois Martin a giggle and a squeal over the whoops in a great birthday ride while checking out the course. Sam would like to thank the El Capitan Casino for the overall money they put up, which really helps to supports the off-road racing. Also Goodyear Tires, Trick Fuel and D & E Parts for all they do. This finishes up the desert racing for the 2010 season and we all hope to see you at the short course races at Prairie City this fall. Also look for Sam at the Parker Blue Water Desert Challenge, October 15-17. Way to go Sam!
