MARCH MADNESS 2010

VORRA kicked off their season at Prairie City short course. 2010 marks a new decade in off road motorsports and VORRA’s 35th anniversary. A new three Moto format with five wide land rush starts made for extreme adrenaline. The excitement in the air was thick, as racers were ready to try out their newly put together race cars or trucks. There were new rules for the T class and a new class 9(small cars) and class 11 (Bugs). Our Sam Berri was ready to race and was helping others on Saturday night so that they could be in the mix on Race day.

Sam’s race day was phenomenal. First moto Sam was fighting it out with theTeam Bankruptcy car. Sam prevailed and won. Second moto had Sam starting in last place, with Steve Sullivan at the head of the pack. Sam worked his magic to move up to second behind Steve, but there were too few laps to catch the hard charging Steve. Third moto Sam got the hole shot and no one could catch him and he won. Sam took a first place for the day and was met by Charlene from Pirate 4X4.com for a live stream interview. Thanks go to Charlene and Pirate 4X4 for promoting the sport we love. Great way to start the season.

Jake took some practice laps with his T class truck and discovered they had a little more work to do on the motor.

Sunday, race day rolled around and the racers were ready to rumb le. The first moto of the T class for Jake was every racers nightmare, having a roll over in the first lap. He limped back to the pits and had to do some reconstruction to make it for the other motos. The second moto he still had some issues that he ironed out. On the third moto the race was like a Rocky movie. Jake kept passing trucks and making his way to the front of the pack till he came to the last truck to pass and he got him right before the finish line. Good Stuff! The crowd went wild. Jake wound up with a fourth place for the day.
